This week's Beer Club featured a custom beer cask from Eventide Brewery in Atlanta. Several weeks ago, Phillip got on the phone with the brewery; and together, they came up with a custom pale ale just for this event.  Owners Nathan & Haley joined us here in Moultrie, Georgia to tap the keg, and to talk about their brewery, their beers, their process, and their brand new tasting room in Grant Park.  (They also brought with them great "swag" and everyone got to take home a custom pint glass!)
We asked one of our brew buddies, Brandt, to do the honors of tapping the cask, which turned into quite the team effort!  While everyone snacked on The Square's boiled peanut hummus, pimento cheese, veggies, and smoked chicken wings from Springer Mountain Farms, we poured up the cask-conditioned, unfiltered double IPA.
The consensus among the attendees was that for an 8% abv double IPA, this brew was surprisingly round-bodied, sweet, and even lightly fruity. (Thanks to the inclusion of the Eldorado hops, no doubt.)
Back at our little hidden bar, we have always carried at least one Eventide brew on draught, changing it out seasonally, or whenever they come up with something new & exciting to send us!  This was the first time we had sampled their take on a Pale Ale, and we were very impressed!  (So, look for an Eventide Pale Ale to be on draught at the bar very soon!)

Beer Club is a monthly event, usually occurring on the 3rd Monday of the month, be sure to follow us on Facebook to be in the know!
